Day Four
Zion to Bryce Canyon with UTV tour
Leaving Zion, we head towards Bryce Canyon, a trip that takes a little more than an hour. My friend Jimmy came up with the idea of riding off-road vehicles. When he asked me what the difference was between an ATV and UTV I said ATV's have limitations, UTV's not so much.
Let me say that we saw people of all ages and abilities riding and using a tour guide, you're in pretty safe hands. My problem is I love speed, and renting one of these was a highlight of the trip. You see the rugged and beautiful terrain up close, but you are also ripping through dunes at 40 mph. Don't worry, the guides make plenty of stops and they even have a restroom conveniently located.
Heading towards Bryce Canyon, we arrived in the small town of Tropic, Utah. It's here we had the luck of staying at the Stone Canyon Inn. I requested two rooms, but I always ask if an upgrade is available. Well, they did have a cute cabin with 2 separate bedrooms and baths. Also, it had a full kitchen, living room, bbq grill, and jacuzzi. We accepted and drove to the local market to grill a couple of steaks later that night.
As sunset was approaching, we decided to go to the canyon for a sunset viewing. First stop was Mossy Cave Trail which is a short climb with a waterfall. With little time left, we drove into the park (No Fee during the pandemic) and went straight to the Navajo Loop trail. Bryce Amphitheater is next to it, so you get a lot by coming here. As we planned to venture down to the trails, it gave us a vantage point to see the work we would endure the next day.
